The US has expressed it’s support to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in his bid to get Pakistan and India together in the trade transit agreement to strengthen trade relations among every country in the region.
The Afghanistan–Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA) is a bilateral trade agreement between Islamabad and Kabul. Signed in 1950, it allows Afghanistan to import goods duty-free through Karachi.
At a press briefing, Deputy Spokesperson, Mark C Toner said that it should not be a priority only for the US, but also for all the countries in the region to work more cooperatively and with unity, so that trade relations in that region may improve, to the mutual benefit of all.
When asked by a reporter about his stance on Afghanistan’s effort on uniting both the countries, Toner replied by saying that he would like all the countries in the region to have stronger trade relationship.
Afghanistan’s condition is that it would let Pakistan transit goods to Central Asia only if they get into the trade agreement. Toner said that Afghanistan has the right to decide who it wants to have trade relationship with.
After Narendra Modi announced that he will aid Afghanistan one billion USD to Kabul, Toner said that US is in full support of India’s generosity for Afghanistan to help it become strong and independent. Toner expressed his appreciation of the fact that India is willing to invest in the future of Afghanistan.

Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim mayor of London, seems to be an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton. According to him, the Anti-Muslim views of Republican Donald Trump, can be a weakness for America in it’s battle against ISIS.
“She’s arguably the most experienced candidate to run to be the president.”, said Sadiq Khan, who was visiting United States for the very first time. He also said that he was “a big fan” of Hillary Clinton and wished to see her win the presidential elections in November.
“As a father of two daughters, I think the message it sends when the most powerful politician in the world is a woman, is phenomenal, and hope she wins.”, said Khan, who being the mayor of London, is one of the most influential Muslim politicians in the western Europe.
While giving his speech in front of the Chicago Council, Trump’s name was not mentioned. Instead, Khan chose to deride the policies Trump has promised America. Khan expressed his disapproval about Trump’s policies on banning Muslim immigrants from America, calling Trump’s policies “ignorant”.
Trump has changed his stance somewhat regarding his policy about Muslims since his first statement in December 2015. Now, instead of banning Muslims from the country, the ban will only extend to places with known terrorist links.

The aircraft AN 32 of the Indian Air Force(IAF), which went missing on the July 22, over the Bay of Bengal lacked Underwater Locator Beacon(ULB). The device transmits signals at ultra low level frequencies which can travel through water. No AN 32 aircrafts have ULB installed.
The missing aircraft had two Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT) one in the cockpit and the other in the tail fin. The battery life of the two ELT is not more than 72 hours and fails to function under water.
The IAF is now trying to install Underwater Locator Beacons in all the AN 32, as per the TOI.
According to the Indian Express, in the absence of the ULB, the search team has been looking for clues of any wreckage, oil slick of aviation turbine fuel or any other visual clue in the area.
