Murder of a Businessman in Delhi Caught on CCTV

The CCTV footage of a property dealer, Wazid, being brutally murdered surfaced on Wednesday a month after the incident took place. The businessman was shot around twenty times in North East Delhi’s Brahmapuri area on October 22nd, 2017.

According to NDTV, the CCTV footage shows the gruesome ongoings of the event in detail, where the property dealer, Wazid, is spotted as he is being chased by three men on a motorcycle. In a desperate attempt of ensure his survival, Wazid enters his house to find sanctuary. The footage then progress to show Wazid falling on the road, as his attacker looms over him, wearing a helmet.

NewsEleven reports, the attacker disguised in a helmet ceaselessly open firing at the victim without any speck of remorse. The video that has surfaced is extremely disturbing to watch. Soon thereafter, the attacker’s partners emerge out of a building and join him in shooting the property dealer. The criminals then fled the scene, leaving Wazid alone to bleed out and succumb to his injuries. Three men were arrested earlier this month as prime suspects in this case, by the Delhi police. The police stated that this incident was an outcome of gang rivalries.

Delhi HC criticised DUSU presidents over defacement case.

On September 20, the presidents of Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) were rebuffed by the Delhi High Court for not being present in front of the court in the defacement of property case. While the newly-elected vice-president, Kunal Sehrawat was personally present in the court, the president, Rocky Tuseed, was represented by his counsel. Both of them belongs to NSUI.

There was scribing of names on the walls, posters were pasted around the college campuses and metro properties during the election process. The court has asked them to file an answer to the same and asked them to suggest ways to clean-up the mess created by them at the public places. According to a report of ANI, the High Court also said, ”We don’t want to take severe action but it can’t go on.”

The High Court also warned them that they can face 10 years of jail term if the FIR would be lodged. The Election Commission of India has been assigned the responsibility to send notices to all the candidates.

An advocate had filed a PIL and asked for a complete ban as the public property is defaced in the process.

Rape inside taxi: Delhi HC slams law enforcers

NEW DELHI: The sexual assault of a 23 year old woman in a cab minus the mandatory global positioning system (GPS), came in the eye of the Delhi High Court, which ultimately came down heavily on the agencies for not properly enforcing the law.

Acting Chief Justice, Gita Mittal, along with the bench took cognisance of the incident that took place on September 12, where a driver of a yellow-black taxi offered lift to a woman near the railway station and then forced himself on her. C Hari Shankar, also a part of the bench was quoted “It points out that enforcement agencies, Delhi Police and traffic police are unable to check gross violation of law by taxi drivers in Delhi, resulting in serious crimes including sexual violence against passengers, It needs to be checked.”

The bench has asked the Delhi government, Centre, transport department and the city police to file responses of the laws that are being violated by the cab drivers in Delhi. The responses for the same have been ordered by September 20. The court in addition has ordered that the victim should be given compensation and be provided with immediate legal aid.

SC lifts ban on Firecrackers in Delhi-NCR region

The Supreme Court on Tuesday lifted the ban on the sale of fire crackers in Delhi and the NCR region for coming time but also passed a verdict that number of licensed sellers should not exceed 500. The License will be issued by Delhi Police to shopkeepers after fulfilling the desired criterion.

The apex Court also added that there will no fire crackers in the silence zones and has also demanded a detailed report on the same by the eight members constituted committee chaired by the chairperson of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The report will be of the health hazards of pollution caused by the fire crackers in the coming festive season.

The earlier order of Supreme court of banning firecrackers in Delhi and NCR region was challenged by The firecracker association and they were joined by the total of 100 fire cracker companies.

Supreme Court also ordered that fire crackers cannot be brought in Delhi-NCR from another states giving the argument of adverse effects of chemicals on humans and their effort to keep it minimum.

Last year, the air quality of Delhi became poisonous after Diwali Celebrations on October 30, 2016. Thick smog was formed all over and schools were closed for 3 days. An environmental emergency was imposed on Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and the apex court banned the sale of fire careackers in Delhi-NCR on November 25, 2016.

40 year old rapes teenage wrestling student

New Delhi: In West Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area a wrestler was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage national-level kabaddi player. The accused, 40 year old was identified as Naresh Dahiya who is a resident of Jain Extension in North Delhi, reported NDTV.

Dahiya as a business runs a local wrestling centre in his village. The arrest was conducted on Tuesday night from his residence.

“The incident occurred on July 9 when the victim, who went for training in Chhatrasal Stadium in north Delhi, was accosted by Dahiya. Posing as a coach, he lured the victim to his car on the pretense of giving her diet tips,” a senior police officer said. He also added that after they covered some distance, the victim was manhandled by Dahiya due to which she lost consciousness. She later found herself in a flat where she was sexually assaulted.

The victim was abandoned by him near the stadium the next day, after threatening her to not speak about the incidence to anyone. Dahiya has been charged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 376 of the IPC mentioned Hindustan Times in its report.

India’s first solar powered railway unit launched

The Indian Railways launched the first 1600 HP solar powered Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) train on Friday. This first of its kind unit was launched by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu. The launch happened at Safdarjung Railway station in New Delhi.

The Indian Express reported that this development happened due to the solar mission to reduce dependency on fossil fuels. The solar power loaded unit was at the Shakurbasti shed. The shed has provisioned a dual fuel system in 16 of 1400 HP driving power cars. Prabhu in his Railway Budget this year mentioned about the plan to generate 1000 megawatts solar power in the next five years. Jackson Engineers Limited, a Noida based firm has been entrusted the responsibility to provide solar panels for such coaches to be used for the pilot projects in Chennai and Amritsar.

The Economic Times informs that the train is scheduled to journey from Sarai Rohila in New Delhi to Farukh Nagar in Haryana. The train has a total of 16 solar panels. These panels produce 300 watts of power individually and are fitted on six coaches. These panels cost Rs 54 lakh and are manufactured through the “Make in India” initiative. It can travel for 72 hours with the help of its power back-up battery.

LeT terrorist convicted for 2005 Delhi blasts

Tariq Ahmed, one of the accused in the 2005 serial blasts case in October 29, 2005 at in Sarojini Nagar, Kalkaji, and Paharganj, has been convicted but only for belonging to the banned terror organisation. The custody carries a sentence of 10-year of jail term. Tariq has already served 12-years in jail.

The other two men have been acquitted. This is seen as a major setback for the Delhi police.


The Delhi court, after hearing the case for last eight years, said that the prosecution had not been able to establish any connection between Tariq Ahmed Dar, Mohd Rafiq Shah and Mohammad Fazil, the three accused in the case. Hence, it cannot be concluded that Tariq Dar had hatch a plot and none of the charges of plotting a terror activity can be made out.


The police’s key evidence against Tariq Dar, a phone conversation between him and an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba handler, also failed to persuade the court.


There were allegations on Tariq to have received Rs. 14 lakh through the hawala route, but there were no evidence of what it was meant for. Adding to it, there were no evidence that Dar had come to Delhi.


The three LeT terrorists were arrested for the serial blasts which had claimed the lives of 67 people and injured 200 people. The court framed charges against Dar in 2008 and alleged of him being the mastermind. They were accused of instigating war against the nation, collecting arms, conspiring, attempt to murder and murder.
