Rahul Gandhi meets PM in a bid to waive off farmer’s loans

Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi led a party delegation to meet Prime Minister Modi to seek waiver for farmer’s loans.  The meeting was set up after Rahul Gandhi recently said that he would reveal corruption details of the PM.

Rahul brought into notice the crisis that farmers are facing all over the country. He also said that though PM Modi acknowledged the crisis, he was silent on the issue of waiver of loans. Gandhi also mentioned that Modi government has waived off the loan of Rs 1.40 lakh Crore to the corporate, so they should also do the same for the loans of the farmers.

This delegation of Congress consisted of high-profile members such as Punjab Unit Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge.

With the approaching of Uttar Pradesh state polls, Congress has already been distributing forms to the farmers stating that if they are elected they would pressurize the government to waive the loans.

According to reports from The Hindu , this has also irked Samajwadi Party as well as Bahujan Samaj Party as Congress initiated this delegation which will affect their talks with President Pranab Mukherjee on the matter of demonetisation struggles.
