JNU Row: Third JNU student Ashutosh Kumar appeared before the investigation team

NEW DELHI: In a recent update to the controversial event at the University campus on February 9 where anti-India slogans were raised, another Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Ashtosh Kumar, who is among one of the five students who have been charged with sedition, was arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday.

Kumar appeared before the police officials at the R.K. Puram Police Station, where previously Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya were also being interrogated. According to the police Ashutosh and others were summoned on the Friday night after a video clip which is showing Kumar and two other shouting the anti-India slogans. Added to this officials also said that, there have been contradictions in the way the accused have described the sequence of events with those of Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya.

Although, the other two other students- Rama Naga and Anant Kumar who were seen accompanying Kumar in the video are yet to appear before the investigation team. But the sources have informed that the two has sent a written letter to the officials saying they are not afraid of joining the investigation.

After questioning Kumar today, the investigation team has said that, the police has released the students but will again question the two other of the five prime accused students who are supposedly to appear before the officials on Monday.
