A man was shot dead at Jharsa Road, Gurgaon on July 28. According to the Indian Express the police has identified the deceased as Surender Rana who worked for a news channel, JK 24×7 News.
The deceased was in an SUV and the assailants in a Santro when the accused allegedly blocked the way of the SUV and involved in an altercation with Rana. It reached to such a level that four of them snatched the license pistol of Rana and shot him, said the police.
Rana sustained five bullet injuries and was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Rana’s wife filed a complaint at Civil Lines police station and named four people, including a woman, who she suspects to be behind the murder. The case has been registered under sections 302(murder) and 34(common intention) of the IPC, and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
The body has been sent for post mortem for further investigation.“So far, it appears to be a case of personal enmity. We are investigating all angles and hope to nab the culprits soon,” Sandeep Khirwar Commissioner of Police said. The police have procured CCTV footage for further investigation.
The four accused were arrested last year in a case of theft and assault, were out in bail.
