Five minors and collegian detained in teenage gangrape case

A 13-year old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five minors and a collegian in September at Ashwin Nagar, Maharashtra. The family of the victim lodged a complaint on Sunday with Ambad Police Station after the victim revealed about her ordeal to her mother.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shrikant Divare, the collegian had taken the victim to a row house where her cold drink was spiked to render her unconscious. Afterwards, the five minors and the collegian raped her in turns. The victim had been warned to keep the incident a secret and threatened her of dreadful consequences if she disclosed it.
Responding to the complaint, the police immediately detained all six of them. A probe has already started into the incident. A case under various sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act 2012 (POSCO) has been lodged.
It has also been alleged that the collegian had created a group on a social networking site where he added some girls. He used that group to send obscene messages.
