Global giant Google is in talks with automobile manufacturer Ford  in order seek help to make its own autonomous cars, Automotive News reported on Tuesday. The announcement of this partnership might be made in the first week of January at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Ford, though not being able to catch up with its competitors in the market increased its pace to develop these autonomous cars. The company has also said that it will enlarge the safety technology, automatic braking and enable hand free operation under particular automating conditions. This will also be included across its global team over the next five years.

Early this year, Google started deliberations with top automakers and brought together teams of conventional as well as modern suppliers to bring the cars to the market by 2020. Though Google officials have been in talks with automobile manufacturers regarding this issue, the company refused to comment on the ongoing speculation about Ford to Automotive News.

These self-driving cars will offer rides for hire, which will be an individual business under its parent company. The tech giant has also started testing prototypes of these cars in Austin.
